Sachi Amma Spotted in Squamish Projecting Cobra Crack

The top Japanese climber has sent a number of 5.15 sport routes

Top Japanese climber Sachi Amma has been spotted in Squamish sending hard cracks and projecting Cobra Crack, Canada’s famous 5.14 trad route first climbed by Sonnie Trotter 13 years ago. Since then, it’s had 12 recorded repeats. Last year, Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher projected the thin crack, but came up short during their brief visit.

Last year, Amma made the first ascent of Soul Mate 5.15b at Gozen Rock. Since 2010, Amma climbed his first 5.15a with Papichulo in Oliana, Spain and in 2012, he took first in the overall lead World Cup which he repeated in 2013.
