Sean McColl Finishes Top-Five at Briancon World Cup

The second stage of the 2015 Lead World Cup took place in Briancon, France on July 17 and 18.

The athletes who competed at the Briancon World Cup weren’t put off by the scattered rain showers that fell on the outdoor event, which had two Canadians advance to semi-finals. Elan Jonas McRae finished in 23rd and Sean McColl placed eighth and advanced to the finals. After an action packed last round, McColl moved up three spots to finish in fifth.

In first place for the men was French climber Gautier Supper who electrified the crowd with his strong performance. In second was Minoru Nakano and in third was the always strong Jakob Schubert. Fan-favourite Czech climber Adam Ondra finished in seventh. Full results here.
