Seb Bouin Repeats Fred Rouhling’s De l’autre Côté du Ciel 5.14d

He made the first send of the roof route since the FA in 1997

French crusher Seb Bouin, 27, has made the first repeat of Fred Rouhling’s 1990’s testpiece: De l’autre Côté du Ciel 5.14d at Les Eaux Claires. In the past year, Bouin has also repeated Move 5.15b/c and made the first ascent of La Rage d’Adam 5.15b/c.

Bouin recently sent Hugh 5.14d and Akira 5.14d, two of Rouhling’s hard routes from over 20 years ago. Bouin down-graded Akira from 5.15b to 5.14d.

De l’autre Côté du Ciel climbs through a big roof on nearlly all chipped holds, which were done before the first ascent in 1997. It was unrepeated until Bouin’s send, which he made during his Vintage Rock Tour in search of hardest routes in France from the 1980s and 1990s.
