Some Hard Sends, and New Daniel Woods and Adam Ondra Vids

A hard Chris Sharma route gets a third ascent and possible upgrade

As winter settles in across Canada, climbers in Europe and in the States are still finding favourable conditions. Here are a few hard sends and new videos this week, so far.

Jorge Diaz-Rullo, 22, made the third ascent of Samfaina 5.14d/15a in Margalef. Chris Sharma made the first ascent and it was repeated by Ramon Julian Puigblanque, with both saying it’s 5.14d. Diz-Rullo, who’s climbed many other 5.14ds in the sector said it felt harder, but that it was his anti-style.

Stefan Scherz has sent Papichulo 5.15a in Oliana, after having sent just two 5.14ds. It took him only a week, and he started to project it after having a cast removed from his foot that he broke in a bike accident.

And if you missed it, German crusher Solveig Korherr managed to take down two incredible sandstone test-pieces in Kentucky’s Red River Gorge.  “These last seven days brought about the end of a two-year-long project that will strike an inspiring chord among RRG regulars. Korherr’s project was Pure Imagination.” Read the story here.
