Sport Climbing Fun at Famous Flatanger
A group of British climbers try their luck on some steep granite routes in one of the climbing world's most famous caves

Most of the time when we cover Flatanger it’s because a headline-making ascent of a new 5.15 has gone down, but this new video features some of the other not-5.15 lines in a mellow video. It was produced by MonoCulture Films and includes illustrations from Marsha Balaeva.
Anna Wild and Pete Dawson go on their first trip to the famous Norway crag “to find out who is taller, are caves really only for bouldering, are moose just big horses and why knots at the end of a rope are sometimes a bad idea.”
Flatanger has been under development for around 20 years with most of the climbs being found in the Hanshelleren Cave. There are long trad routes, slab lines and world-class overhanging sport climbs. It has the highest concentration of 5.15 climbs anywhere in the world with two proposed 5.15d routes: Silence and Big.
