Squamish’s Milk Run Becomes Milk Road

Historic Squamish wall now a modern free climb

Jeremy Frimer and friends spent 26 days and added six pitches on or near the 44-year-old Beckey route Crescent Ramp on the Tantalus Wall connecting the existing Milk Run route to the rim. The full route is called Milk Road, 9 pitches 5.10d A0 or 5.11d, Frimer says, is “the biggest project I’ve worked on by a factor of two…it’s about as hard as Grand Wall.”  Peter Croft, Matt Maddaloni and others have all contributed to the history of the route and Frimer actually found a piece of Beckey’s old rope tangled in a tree on the climb.
