Squamish Shade, New Routes on Slhanay

Woloski and Young develop moderate climbs on bomber looking rock

The new-routing in Squamish has been steady. The Slhanay (formerly the Squaw) has been the centre of action with Glenn Woloski leading the way. Last year with Robin Barley , Woloski, established the popular Photophobia and this spring added Fog Ducker Spire, and most recently, with Harry Young, the three-pitch Disaster Control. The pitches are: 5.10a, 5.10c, 5.10b.

In the same area Young cleaned a new crag, Pox Wall, which has four 30m routes up to 5.11a.

The rock on Disaster Control and Pox Wall looks bomber. Slhanay is a good option in the summer heat as the high walls and tree-cover provides shade.
