Stanley Headwall Action

Banff’s Kris Irwin hiked into the Stanley Headwall on Thurs. Oct. 30 and found thin conditions.

Nevertheless, Irwin and partner climbed a six-pitch mixed route at the end of the valley. “It isn’t in the guidebook, but it’s been climbed. There were old anchors and fixed gear.”

Irwin described the conditions on Stanley Headwall as thin and that nothing is ready to go yet. By the end of the first week of November, things should be fattening up.
