Stu Smith Sends New 5.12+/13-R in Squamish

Stu Smith has been a constant presence in Squamish lately, from establishing new run-out 5.13s to creating short films of classic routes.

This week, he sent a new 5.12+/13-R at a remote crag near Squamish. The Overlook wall is beneath the first tower of the Seat to Sky Gondola and was developed by Colin Moorhead.

Smith’s new route Ship of Theseus climbs a crack up a steep wall of golden granite and joins Moorhead’s 5.11 called Reverse Cowgirl.

“Steep jamming and burly lay-backing, ” said Smith. “The rack is #1 BD doubles of yellow C3 and nuts from small to mid. Let the games begin.” Follow Smith on Instagram here.
