Survey for Grandwall Boulders Trail Development

There’s a new online survey to gather feedback about trail development in the Grandwall Boulders of Squamish.

The traffic in the Grandwall Boulders is increasing rapidly. With these new crowds many of the most popular areas are sustaining increased levels of impact.

New and unnecessary trails are appearing. The Squamish Access Society is considering several options to protect the forest against this impact and ensure the sustainable use of the boulders.

“Our objectives are to make the main trail clearly visible and to prevent people from walking through areas of the forest which don’t need to have trails.”

There are a number of questions such as “Do you feel the impact due to people walking off trail is a problem and some action needs to be taken to address it?”
