These Six Climbers Are Now Going to the Olympics

Adam Ondra has secured a spot at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Qualifications are what mattered at the IFSC Toulouse competition this weekend and that round is over for the men. Heading to the finals are eight climbers, six of whom are heading to the Olympics in Japan.

Stefano Ghisolfi was the first to top the lead route, then tops went to Sasha Lehmann, Alberto Gines Lomez and Adam Ondra. Lehmann tied Ghisolfi’s time to the second and Ondra was the fastest. Ghisolfi finished twelfth and will not be heading to the Olympics.

While the finals are on Saturday, the six spots for Tokyo have been secured by Adam Ondra, YueFei Pan, Alberto Gines Lopez, Jan Hojer, Bassa Mawem and Nathaniel Coleman. Japan, France and Germany have filled their quota for the Olympics.
