Spanish climber Jorge Díaz-Rullo just had a very successful string of three days of climbing. On October 17, he sent Mr. Potatoe V14 (8B+), a drop-off limestone boulder problem in La Bisbal De Falset, Spain. “Not exactly a pure boulder, but such a fun 22 move sequence,” said Díaz-Rullo after the ascent on Instagram.  “Almost flashed it, but broke a foothold mid-try… so it had to go down on the second attempt.”

The following day, he redpointed Tierra de Nadie 5.14d (9a). The day after that, he sent Tierra Negra 5.14d/15a, a Chris Sharma first ascent from 2012. Located in Margalef, the route has seen repeats from Seb Bouin, Ramon Julian, and Sacchi Amma, among others. It sounds like Díaz-Rullo is now going to get back on his mega-project, the likely 5.15d Cafe Colombia.

Díaz-Rullo has kicked off the fall climbing season with a bang. In late September, he onsighted Memento 5.14a and MotivAcción 5.14b in Cueva del Arenal, Spain. The ascents were his 15th 5.14a onsight and sixth 5.14b onsight. He also made the second ascent of Secaina 5.14d in La Pedriza near his hometown of Madrid and ticked El Cobrador del Flash V14. Earlier this month, he redpointed Pink Patatas 5.15, a unique sport climb, connecting a boulder problem into a route.
