Time Machine is Bolted Six-Pitch 5.10c in Van Island Alpine

It's one of many big bolted alpine lines on Mount Arrowsmith

In 2020, Hunter Lee and Henrik Hinkkala established a new six-pitch all-bolted alpine climb on the Beehive Wall and West Ridge of Mount Arrowsmith on Vancouver Island. When you finish the climb, you can either rappel or continue up or down the West Ridge. This route is fully bolted with rappel rings that accommodate either a 70-metre or 60-metre rope.

Time Machine climbs straight up the as seen when coming out of the trees at the top of the climber’s trail and has a fun gymnastic overhanging crux pitch. The pitches for the 160-metre route are listed below.

Pitch one: 5.9 45m
Pitch two: 5.9 35m
Pitch three: 5.10b/c 25m
Pitch four: 5.8 20m
Pitch five: 5.10a 15m
Pitch six: 5.6 20m
