Watch Alex Megos on V15 and Other Bouldering News

Alex Megos recently made the second ascent of Half Life V15, which was first climbed by Felix Knaub. Olympic-qualified Megos has been spending more time this year bouldering.

“Felix proposed 8C [V15] back then, and I think the way he climbed it was for sure hard 8C,” said Megos. “After finding slightly different beta and by using a kneepad it for sure made it a bit easier. Might still be 8C though. Hard to say, as its a rather long boulder problem with about 25 moves.”

Alex Puccio has done her fifth V13 since covid-19 lockdown restrictions eased in the U.S.A. with Doppelganger Poltergeist in Rocky Mountain National Park. “Really nice line,” she said. “A bit harder finish than the Shining.”

Also in Rocky Mountain, Brooke Raboutou and Natalia Grossman have climbed The Shining V12, near where Puccio sent her recent test-piece. And American 16-year-old Zander Waller has just flashed Social Distancing V11.

Marie Dorsaz, 36, has just made the first female ascent of Masochist V12 after over a dozen visits, it’s her second of the grade. The line follows small crimps and her send is one of less than five in the past 14 years.
