Watch First Ascent of Remote Himalayan Peak Rungofarka
Watch the first ascent of Rungofarka, a 6,495-metre mountain in the Indian Himalayas by Alan Rousseau and Tino Villanueva.
The two Americans made the first ascent of the big peak in the Zanskar Range in September 2017 via the 1,200-metre North Ridge M6 WI4.
The alpine route had “everything from mixed chimneys to vertical finger cracks to unprotected offwidths” and they bivied a number of nights on small ledges.
One night was spent behind an ice curtain in a small cave at 5,900 metres, which was they credit with being key to their success.
