Watch Send of Nice 5.11c at Sunshine Rock in Banff

James Blackhall has spent the better part of the past two summers climbing and establishing new routes.

He wasted no time in spring 2017 to get to work. At the now-popular Sunshine Rock just west of Banff, Blackhall bolted and sent an oft-looked at line and called it Thunder from Downunder 5.11c.

Blackhall’s new route is on the Rathaus and right of the two funn 5.11as: Mountain Aven and The Jaxx. Watch the send below.

Sunshine Rock is less than a one-minute approach from the car and found after the Texas-gate immediately off the Trans Canada Highway on the road to Sunshine Ski Village.

There are dozens of fun bolted routes up to hard 5.12. The crag has become very popular and is busy on weekends. For more info visit here.
