Thomas Lindinger has climbed over 20 V13 problems with his most recent being Pipe Dream V13. He’s climbed two V14s: The Dagger and Riot Act.

“Although the Saalachtal isn’t too far away from Munich I’ve never been there before,” he said. “I saw some videos of Bernhard Schwaiger doing hard first ascents and ever since my motivation was high to go there and try myself at those problems.

“Now I finally went there and my first goal was Pipe Dream V13 which Christof Rauch, a friend of mine, did a few days earlier. It’s a short crimpy shield with the crux in the middle. Surprisingly I did this boulder fast. Now I’m psyched to o go to the valley again and try other stuff.”

If someone had told me last week that I‘d climb on sunday I wouldn‘t have believed it: On Wednesday evening my left shoulder felt tired and a little bit of pain. On Thursday it hurt so much. I couldn‘t even lift my arm above the head when I was working. In the evening @liesahergeth treated my Infraspinatus muscle as this seemed to be the trigger as it hurt a lot putting pressure on it. Luckily I knew that this could be a reason for my shoulder pain as @sir.takobert gave me some tipps for my other shoulder earlier this year. From then the pain went away continiously until I felt newborn on Saturday. Therefore I decided then to go bouldering on Sunday. I had no expectations but I heard from @christof_rauch that he crushed in Saalachtal and I got syked to go there, too. Especially as I haven‘t been there before and I wanted to see something new. As Chris did ‚Pipe Dream‘ [fb 8B] I also decided to try it. It‘s steep, crimpy and not too long. Established by Bernhard Schwaiger. First it felt impossible. Then I could do the moves. Nevertheless I didn‘t believe that I would link them before my skin is wrecked and thought about going to another boulder. But I gave it one more try.
