Watch Wild New Ski Descent in Chamonix

Big and dangerous ski descents, often down established routes, are nothing new in Chamonix. Climbers and skiers have been pushing steep turns for decades. Recently, Vivian Bruchez, Tristan Knoertzer and Ben Tibbetts skied down the west face of Pointe de la Fouly of the Mount Blanc massif.

The team headed up the couloir and had to climb two pitces of M5 to reach 3,611 metres. On their way down, they had to do one 60-metre rappel. The line is 600 metres long, 45 degrees steep and goes at 5.2, M5.
