Will Bosi Repeats Aidan Roberts V16, Suggests Downgrade

The top Scottish climber found new beta, likely dropping the problem's difficulty to V15

In Summer 2022, British climber Aidan Roberts made the first ascent of Isles of Wonder Sit in North Wales. He graded the line V16, calling it “a wonderfully rare alignment where the hardest and best climb I’ve done coincides.”

A few days ago, Will Bosi made the second ascent of the problem. He used a right heel hook to tame the lower section, which he believes may have reduced the grade. “Really happy to send this king line!” he said on his 8a.nu page. “I think my beta is easier than Aidan’s so I think 8C is fair.” Via Instagram he added, “I think it’s hard 8C [V15], time will tell though.”

You’d have a hard time finding another boulderer on the planet with as impressive of a year Bosi that just had. Over the past twelve months, he has repeated Shawn Raboutou’s Alphane V17, Nalle Hukkataival’s Burden of Dreams V17, and Jimmy Webb’s Ephyra V16. He also put up a V16 of his own, Honey Badger in the U.K, and opened and repeated a bunch of V15’s.

You can compare Bosi and Roberts’ beta on Isles of Wonder Sit in the two videos below. Roberts’ send footage is part of the longer bouldering film Mastery: Aidan Roberts Pushing the Limits of Bouldering. If you haven’t watched the full documentary, be sure to check it out.
