Will Bosi Sends Ephyra V16

Since July, Bosi has sent two V15’s, two V16’s, and one V17

British climber, Will Bosi, continues his jaw-dropping year of hard bouldering sends with his ascent of Ephyra V16. In 2022 alone, Bosi has climbed ten V14’s, eleven V15’s, two V16’s, and one V17.

Ephyra V16 (8C+) is located in Switzerland and was originally climbed by Jimmy Webb in 2019. The problem features a very difficult lateral move onto the left shoulder. On Instagram Bosi said, “I briefly tried [Ephyra] last year and felt like I was too spanned to do the crux move. Coming back with stronger shoulders I was able to stick the move quite fast and eventually go through it from the ground.”

It only took Bosi a couple of days to send Ephyra this season. He believes the grade is lower-end V16, harder than his recent send of Forgotten Gem V15 but easier than Honey Badger V16 or Alphane V17.

Bosi currently sits in the top spot in 8a.nu’s world boulderer rankings. With seven weeks left of 2022, we’ll all have to wait and see what problems he throws down next.
