World’s Best Climber Said “It Was Incredible to Witness” This Climb

U.K. 5.15 climber Will Bosi is currently in the Czech Republic where he's making quick work of test-piece boulders

Scottish climber Will Bosi has flashed Charizard V14 at Sklapsko in the Czech Republic. Bosi then went on to make the first ascent of Bulbasaur V15 and repeated Iceberg V15.

The world’s top climber, Adam Ondra, was on hand to see the V14 flash first hand and after, said, “It was incredible to witness strong Will Bosi flashing the ultimate fingery test-piece Charizard 8B+ [V14]. Ondra then sent, saying, “A few tries later, I was lucky to add an ascent of this ultimate power problem.”

One of the first V14 flashes ever recorded was by Adam Ondra in 2009 of Confessions at Cresciano, Switzerland. Jakob Schubert flashed V14 in 2020, Tomoa Narasaki flashed a V14 in 2019 and in 2017 Ned Feehally pulled off an impressive flash of Trust Issues V14 in Rocklands.

At 17, Bosi became the youngest Brit to climb 5.14d at the time with Rainshadow at Malham Cove. Since then, Bosi has become one of the U.K.’s leading climbers. In 2018, he reached the final of IFSC Chamonix Lead Climbing competition which was the first time a male had reached a lead final since 1998.

In 2020, Bosi became the first Brit to climb 5.15b abroad with his ascent of La Capella. In 2021, he made the first ascent of King Capella and graded it 5.15c, but it was later downgraded to 5.15b by Alex Megos and Jakob Schubert.
