On February 15, Yannick Flohé made the third ascent of Story of 3 Worlds V16 (8C+) in Cresciano, Switzerland. Opened by Shawn Raboutou in 2022, the problem saw its second ascent from Jakob Schubert last month. After a hard steep start, the line has a no-hands kneebar rest before joining The Dagger V13/14.

“Yesterday I made the third ascent of this fun boulder by [Shawn Raboutou],” said Flohé on Instagram. “It adds a super cool roof climb into the Dagger and features one of the most unique moves on rock. I tried it for a few sessions on my last trip but couldn’t handle the cold and kept numbing out. This time felt way better with some sun and after falling once on the Dagger I took a long rest and sent it an hour late.”

Flohé has topped many hard classics in Switzerland in France over the past few years. In 2023, he sent Return of the Dreamtime V16, Ephyra V16, La Force Tranquille V15, and From Dirt Grows the Flowers V15. In 2022, he started the year with a repeat of the famous Off the Wagon Sit V16. Last spring he climbed his first 5.15a, Lazarus at the Schiefer Tod crag in Frankenjura.

The 25-year-old German is also known for his comp climbing. He competed in the Paris Olympics last summer, placing 9th overall. In 2022, he won gold at the Brixen Boulder World Cup and bronze at the Koper Lead World Cup. The previous year, he won gold in Combined at the World Championships in Moscow.
