American climber Brian McCray has passed away

Before Brian McCray owned Fly’n Brian’s Resoles, he was known as one of America’s cutting-edge free and big-wall climbers. 

McCray hit the scene in the 90s when he established a number of hard free climbs in West Virginia’s New River Gorge. On El Cap, he made a number of speed ascents including Wall of Early Morning Light and Atlantic Ocean Wall. In Nevada’s Red Rocks he made the first ascent of Sauron’s Eye on Rainbow Wall.
