Bernd Arnold: Soul of Stone
Bernd Arnold is the iconic barefoot climber who made over 980 first ascents in his 67 years. Now in his later years, he reflects on the power of psyche in overcoming fear.
In 1970, Arnold climbed the North Face on the Schwager 5.11d in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. It marked the start of his most active two decades. He would go on to climb new routes in the Alps, Himalayas and Patagonia.
