Canadian Zac St. Jules Sends John Henry – The Hammer Swinger M11

Brian O’leary and Zac St. Jules both sent Bayard Russell’s John Henry – The Hammer Swinger M11, almost one decade after its first ascent.

The steep line is in Evan’s Notch, Maine. St. Jules said, “A true mixed line – the route starts on 20 feet of ice, moves through 30-foot roof, then pulls the lip of the cave (crux) and gains a hanger to finish on 15 feet of ice.” Read about the first ascent back in 2009 here.

St. Jules, a Canadian, and O’leary from Massachusetts, over the past couple seasons have put in some time ticking off some of the many New England winter test pieces. Follow below for more climbing action and the great action shots are by Drew Lederman. Congrats guys.
