Fifth Annual Southern Ontario Ice Fest in February 2020

This will be the festival's fifth anniversary

For four years, the town of Maynooth in Ontario’s highlands has hosted the Southern Ontario Ice Festival. After the Nipigon Ice Festival in northern Ontario, the event is the largest ice fest in the province.

Founded by Josh Smith, Andriy Kolos and Peter Hoang in 2015, the fifth festival will take place from Feb. 7 to 9, 2020. “We bring fully certified instructors from Yamnuska and the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides,” said Smith. “These instructors are the best folks you could ever learn ice climbing from in the world. And they love coming here.”

The 2020 festival promises to be an amazing event, with more climbers than ever and more opportunities to learn about the sport. For more information about the Southern Ontario Ice Festival, visit them online here and follow on Instagram below for updates about events, registration and programs.
