New Black Diamond Performance Footwear for 2020

Black Diamond's new models are the Circuit, Session, Mission LT and Technician

Black Diamond Women’s Technician

Two years ago, Black Diamond introduced its first line of rock climbing shoes. They were a big change for a brand known for their hard goods such as cams, trekking poles and carabiners. But in the past few years, Black Diamond’s climbing shoes have become some of the best selling, along with La Sportiva and Scarpa.

At the Denver Outdoor Retailer trade show in Jun 2019, Black Diamond revealed that in spring 2020, they’ll be releasing their first shoes that aren’t meant for technical rock climbing. The four models are the Circuit, Session, Technician and Mission LT and are being called “performance footwear,” instead of approach shoes.

The Circuit and Session fall under the “performance lifestyle” category and use Black Diamond’s sticky BlackLable-Street Rubber. while the Technician and Mission LT are being called “technical performance” and use BlackLable-Mountain Rubber. All four models are lightweight, look slick and have different features for different uses.

The Technician and Mission LT will be the focus of those looking for durable backcountry shoes, while the Circuit and Session are meant for everyday use. All four models have durable knit uppers, proprietary rubber, a range of features for different types of climbing and street use.

The new line of Black Diamond’s performance footwear will be available in Canada in spring/summer 2020.
