Personal Speed Records for Alannah Yip and Sean McColl

Alannh Yip and Sean McColl recently competed at the first speed climbing world cup of 2019 and both are heading home with a personal record/best time.

McColl finished with a quick time of 7.17 seconds, which landed him in 40th. For reference, the fastest time and gold medal winner for the men was French climber Basa Mawem with a time of 5.7 seconds.

Yip not only scored a personal best with a time of 9.509 seconds, but she also got a Canadian record for women’s speed climbing. The winner for the females was YLing Son, who clocked in at 7.3 in the final round. Check out the full results here. The next speed world cup will be in Congqing on April 26.
