S.P.O.T Project Begins, First Stop – Philippines

In 2014, James Pearson and Caroline Ciavaldini uncovered the potential for a world-class climbing destination in the Philippines. With only a small group of climbers and lots of rock, the two elite climbers started the S.P.O.T project.

The Share, Progress, Open and Teach (S.P.O.T) program aims to educate climbers who don’t have access to the information the rest of us do. Along the way they’ll raise money and equipment to donate to local climbers.

The first step of the S.P.O.T. project took place in the Philippines. The second one will be in South Africa.

S.P.O.T. Philippines – Official trailer from Foto Vertical on Vimeo.

In February I was in the Philippines with Yuji Hirayama, Caroline Ciavaldini, James Pearson and with some Filipino climbers. It was a great experience, the first step of the S.P.O.T project. A picture says more than a thousand words… And I don’t know how much a video says! So I’ve made a short video about #SPOTphilippines :-)! I hope you all like it, hopefull I’ll be able to make the long version as well! I decided there was to much to say about the S.P.O.T. project, the climbing in the Philippines, the Filipino climbers… to limit it to a 3 minutes movie… Please take a look at the vídeo link above. Then don’t hesitate to follow the new @SPOTclimbers account and to discover their new website www.spotclimbers.com made my wife @sandraducasse. #climbing_pictures_of_Instagram #climbing #nonprofit #Philippines #filipino #spotclimbers #climbers #climbingvideo #trailer #teaser #cebu #mansorella #travel
