Schubert Sends Nearly 100 Rocklands Problems in Visit

Jakob Schubert just spend 17 days in Rocklands, South Africa’s popular bouldering area, and sent nearly 100 routes during his visit.

The Austrian 26-year-old is a leading comp climber and this was his first trip to the famous sandstone problems. He sent 55 problems V11 or harder from July 5 to July 28, according to his scorecard here.

He flashed two V13s, including Madiba and Mooiste Meisie, which he downgraded. After his trip, he noted, “Since it was my first trip to this bouldering paradise I wanted to see as much as possible and climb as much as I can.

“I didn’t want to waste time projecting something super hard and sent a lot of stuff that I can send in one session instead.”

His V14 sends included Shaky Warrio, Amandla, Speed of Sound and Trust Issues. Schubert is now off to the Bouldering World Cup in Munich.

Finally I'd like to share my ticklist from this past Rocklands trip, link in bio ? • Since it was my first trip to this bouldering paradise I wanted to see as much as possible and climb as much as I can. I didn't want to waste time projecting something super hard and sent a lot of stuff that I can send in one session instead. • In the end I sent over 55 boulders 8a and harder of which 20 boulders 8b and harder within our 17 climbing days. I felt in a very great shape and I'm proud of my achievements ? • Thanks again to the best crew! It's always so much easier to perform with fun and psyched people around you ? @pumkin_honey @alfons_dornauer @michael.piccolruaz @gabrimoroni @alexkhazanov @valdo_chilese • ? by @ingofilzwieser of 'Oral Office'
