British climber Louis Parkinson, also known by hit Instagram handle Captain Cut Loose, recently visited eastern Canada where he climbed some classic boulders, sport routes and his first-ever trad pitches.
Parkinson travels from London to Montreal and went straight to Bloc Shop for some plastic climbing.
FINALLY! A few months ago, @dcpetts and I travelled around the East Coast of Canada, climbing things, meeting people and generally getting up to mischief. Dave made an expectedly brilliant film about our escapades, which has been split into a four episode series and is being released on @epictvclimbing later this week! Keep an eye out, if it's as fun to watch as it was to make then you're in for a treat ;D Check out the link in my bio to see a great interview with Dave and some clips from the series!
In part one, he travelled to Val David where he climbed Slapping the Belly of the Whale V10, Ultra Belly V11 and the high Top Secret V9.
“With filmmaker David Petts capturing every moment, the pair are in Montreal to check out the local climbing scene. Louis gets dynamic in the local gym then hits the rock for some highball action. Poutine anyone?”
In part two, Parkinson continues sending hard problems in Quebec before heading to Kamouraska to climb the classic Moby Dick 5.9.
In part three, he ropes up again and racks up with cams to work on his trad climbing skills at Welsford.
