Watch Adam Ondra’s Whipper on Acephale Project

His belayer gets caught up in the big swing

Adam Ondra has been in Canmore, Alberta, for a few weeks and has onsighted a number of hard climbs up to 5.14c. He has been working on a project since he arrived and recently made great links from the ground.

Josh Muller established the project and was belaying Ondra for his ground-up attempt when Ondra popped off. Muller gave Ondra a pro catch as Ondra spread-eagled to avoid kneeing Muller in the head.

This is a pro belay and pro whip, but still it’s worth the watch to see how it all goes down. The route is potentially the hardest in Canada and/or one of the hardest in North America.
