Watch Sends on New Alumni Wall 5.13s in Bow Valley

The new crag can be found between Mounts Heart and McGillivray

McGillivray Canyon is a slot canyon between Mounts McGillivray and Heart in the Bow Valley. The canyon itself has been used as an adventure course for local camps for decades and in the 1990s, a group of climbers bolted a southwest facing vertical wall, but never recorded any information about it.

A few years ago, a group of climbers rediscovered the potential and started to bolt routes on a wall 100 metres up the canyon they called the Alumni Wall. The climbers include Dexter Bateman, Braden Bester, Patrick Gibeau, Dawson Vlessides and Simon Yamamoto.

There are now around a half-dozen sent routes up to 5.13b and a number of closed projects. Find beta to the area on Sendage.com here or on the Sloper App here.
