Ron Kauk was one of the Stone Masters who established and pushed climbing in Yosemite for a number of years.
In this film, Kauk and Rick Ridgeway free the Rostrum, but we also get to see the Camp 4 training grounds.
Kauk slacklines, hangboards and does laps climbing a ropes, all while wearing high socks. Will the socks make a comeback? Kauk sent one of Yosemite’s hardest routes in 1996 called Magic Line 5.14.
