Aquasolo: bold solo over not-so-deep water

Aquasolo is the story of a new route in the sea cliff of Capo Noli ( Finale Ligure, Italy) climbed during the summer 2014 by 2001 Wordl Boulder Champion and E9 clothes owner Mauro Calibani.

The route name is “Di buono c’è che con l’innalzamento della temperatura terrestre prima o poi il livello del mare si alzerà anche qui” and it’s due to the lack of deep water below. Local climbers during years choose not to bolt this line to preserve it for a real clean ascent and Mauro during a warm summer evening took the challenge climbing this 20-metre line with no rope or harness with a difficulty of 8a: a statement about his climbing philosophy to preserve rock.
