New Route in Peru

French climbers Frederic Degoulet, Benjamin Guigonnet, Helias Millerioux and Robin Revest climbed Looking for the Void, a mixed route up the West face of Siula Chico in the Cordillera Huayhuash in Peru, during mid-may.

Siula Chicois 6,265 m and is the sub-peak to Siula Grande. The West Face was first climbed in 2007 and the recent ascent of the new Looking for the Void is only one of a handful ascents of the peak.

The new 900 m route climbs a direct line up the West Face.  It took 20 days to acclimatize. The climbed the route in alpine style from May 16 to 20. They graded the route M7, WI6R.
