Watch climbers on classic East End Boys 5.12 in Rockies
It's one of the most repeated 5.12 mixed routes on Yamnuska
East End Boys, 5.12, is a classic Yamnuska route first climbed in the 1980s by Bill Betts and Steve DeMaio, and later freed by DeMaio and Andy Genereux. The route climbs over 200 metres up an esthetic crack system near the east end of the famous wall.
IFMGA mountain guide Joshua Lavigne took some footage on an ascent a decade ago, and said, “I spent another spectacular fall day climbing. This time I went out with Andrew Wexler to take a look at the route East End Boys on Yamnuska . The route was uber esthetic with some great crack climbing through steep terrain and some fun limestone bolt clipping. It is another awesome Yam route to put on the list to do again.”
