Watch Short Alberta Boulder Film with Allison Vest
Allison Vest has made a short video about bouldering at The Gateway near Exshaw in the Bow Valley west of Calgary.
The newly developed area has a number of problems up tall scree-field boulders. The listed climbs are Adhesive Allerby V1, Lighthouse V1, Showboat V1, First Blood V2, Derk’s Dunk V6, Arnold V6 and Doorman V7.
There are a number of bouldering areas in Alberta that have been developed for decades, like Big Choss near Yamnuska, Old Goat Boulders, NoSeeUm Creek Boulders, Frank Slide, Big Rock and many others.
The footage was captured by Canadian bouldering champ Eric Sethna on Vest’s 22nd birthday. Scott Eveleigh, another top Calgary boulderer, was also out for the day.
