Before Trying Dawn Wall, He Projected This 5.15b – Watch the Sessions

He worked on the steep limestone route a year before visiting Yosemite where he put down several hard big-wall routes

In spring 2021, top Belgian climber Seb Berthe flashed Mind Control, a steep 5.14c in Oliana, Spain. He then travelled to Catalonia where he attempted Fight of flight 5.15b, which you can watch in the video below.

Earlier this year, Berthe put in weeks of effort projecting Dawn Wall 5.14d on El Capitan before calling it quits because of weather. He then went on to send Golden Gate 5.13 in a day and El Niño via Pineapple Express VI 5.13b/c in a day. On Nov. 11, 2019, Berthe became only the seventh person to free climb The Nose, one of the world’s most famous routes. The 1,000-metre route is rated at 5.14a.
