Experience Diedre in Squamish With Accurate Sound

Looking up Diedre in Squamish

Squamish has a number of classic long 5.8 multi-pitch climbs, but few are climbed as often as Diedre.

Dierde is climbed so often that you have to line-up starting before sunrise on weekends to get up by dinner.

The first ascent of the six-pitch climb was back in 1962 and the first free ascent the year after.

It climbs a rising right-facing corner system easily seen from the Sea to Sky Highway on the Apron.

The highway can always be heard from west-facing climbs in Squamish and this video by Stu Smith captures not only what the route involves, but the noise you’ll hear on the way.
