Ice Climber Free-Solos Massive Scottish Mountain Wall

Top Scottish climber Dave MacLeod goes ropeless up Orion Face Direct on Ben Nevis, watch below

Watch as Scottish climber Dave MacLeod free-solos the classic Orion Face Direct on Ben Nevis, which is one of the longest winter routes in the U.K.

It was first climbed in February 1960 by Jimmy Marshall and Robin Smith using the step-cutting method. It was first climbed without ropes many years ago, but it’s never been filmed in such a stunning way.

MacLeod, who lives close to Ben Nevis and is known for his difficult rock and ice ascents, waited all winter for the perfect spring conditions which arrived in March 2021.
