Jimmy Webb Gets Revenge on Highball That Broke His Ankle
A new film released by Mellow showcases Webb's Swiss sends in spring 2023

Mellow recently released a film of Jimmy Webb’s big bouldering sends in Ticino, Switzerland this spring. Filmed by Roman Yalowitz and presented by The North Face, the film showcases repeats and first ascents by Webb. In the film, Webb repeats Shawn Raboutou’s Fight Club V14, Nalle Hukkataival’s Momentum V14, and Marco Müller’s Ninjitsu V14. It also covers three first ascents: Nascondino, which Webb left ungraded, The New Abnormal V14/15, and Swiss Air V15.
Swiss Air V15 has a particularly interesting story. Webb busted his ankle working the problem last year but came back this spring for vengeance. He suffered the mental battle of trying to send a climb that previously caused injury, but in the end, he managed to top the gorgeous riverside highball.
“That hesitation we all feel while trying to complete a project that took climbing away from us is difficult,” he said on his Instagram. “There’s always this feeling in your stomach that you could get hurt again. It’s that same feeling that also holds you back even when you feel like you’re giving 100%. In situations like this I try and take a step back and accept that process. I don’t want to feel like I’m rushing it, nor do I want to feel like I’m forcing it.”
