This is One of America’s Hardest Crack Climbs
First climbed by Mason Earle, Lor Sabourin just made the second ascent of Stranger Than Fiction

In 2015, Mason Earle made the first ascent of Stranger Than Fiction, a 5.14 crack at the Bartlett Wash in Utah. The only other ascent was by Lor Sabourin earlier this month.
About the route, Earle said, “A ferocious Devil. I never expected to find such a wild and engaging piece of crack climbing. Brutally steep with awesome, sporty, crack moves.” The top half of the route is a steep finger crack, so Earle and Sabourin opted to tape one foot and use a shoe on the other.
Top U.K. crack climbers Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall have just released a short film about their most recent attempts on Stranger Than Fiction. Watch below.
