Watch a Serac Collapse in Canadian Rockies
The falling ice creating a big cloud of snow and made a thunder-like sound
While on Mount Athabasca this past weekend, a skier saw a massive serac fall off the Andromeda Icefall, looking to the southwest from Athabasca. “It sounded like thunder and was a unbelievable roaring that went through the entire valley,” said Sean Murray.
In 2021, a climber was killed by serac fall while climbing on Denali. For some great Rockies ski action, be sure to visit and follow his YouTube channel Tis The Skison.
