Watch Side of a Mountain Collapse in Switzlerland
Access to a popular hut was destroyed, but luckily nobody was injured
Several big rockfalls took place on Piz Dolf over the weekend, a mountain in the Glarus Alps of Switzerland that’s popular with climbers and scramblers. The largest of the rockfalls was captured in the below video.
Several trails were destroyed, including one that accesses the famous Sardonahütte. Nobody was injured. The cause of the rockfalls aren’t yet known, but the area has been experiencing extremely hot conditions. Above average temperatures have been proven to cause rockfall in other areas.
