Watch Epic First Ski Descent on Blonnière in France

The climb and ascent were done in near-perfect conditions

This week, French mountain guides Paul Bonhomme and Vivian Bruchez made the first descent of a steep new ski line on the east face of the 2,362-metre Monte Blonnière in France.

The climb was difficult but the descent was in perfect conditions, which they had to wait a few winters for. The ascent took three hours and the descent followed their 650-metre line, which included a rappel. It’s graded III 5.4.

Two years ago, Bonhomme, father of four, and Bruchez climbed the difficult northeast face of Aiguille Verte near Chamonix.
