Review: The Helinox Chair One

Campers, even in the backcountry, are getting used to the comfort of lightweight folding chairs, and Helinox builds some of the best. High-strength DAC aluminum poles, the only used by any outdoor furniture company, lock into sturdy plastic hubs make for chairs stronger than some home furniture.

Simple, strong, light and easy to set up, the Chair One is an obvious choice for backpackers and canoeists, but these chairs are too comfortable to save just for the backcountry.

This is Helinox’s most versatile chair, and will serve equally on picnics, at the beach and music festivals. It has a low-profile, which reduces the number of poles and the weight, but it offers enough clearance even for the heftiest user to feel comfortable. Leg balls and ground sheets are available from Helinox to avoid the legs sinking into soft surfaces.

Comes with a zip-bag for storage, and a five-year warranty.
