After an awesome event in Innsbruck, the IFSC World Cup series moves to Villars, Switzerland this weekend. This World Cup stop will feature both a speed and lead event. Lead qualifiers are being held on Friday. On Saturday July 1, lead semi-finals and finals will both be held. Then, on Sunday July 2, the event will wrap up with speed qualifiers and finals.

Some huge names in European climbing are registered to compete in the lead event including Alex Megos, Jakob Schubert, Oriane Bertone, and 2023 Innsbruck gold medalist Sascha Lehmann. Adam Ondra is also expected to make his 2023 Lead World Cup debut at the event. Janja Garnbret, who took the top spot two weeks ago in both boulder and lead at Innsbruck, is registered to compete. She won gold at all six previous Villars Lead World Cup events (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022).
