Results from Tour de Bloc at Altitude and The Hive

On Dec. 6, competitors went head-to-head during the fourth week of the Tour de Bloc. The two events went down at Quebec’s Altitude Gym and Vancouver’s The Hive.

At Vancouver’s The Hive, where outdoor temps were reaching 10 degrees and the rain was falling, Shannon Russell, who qualified in first place, walked away with the win. She was followed by Tiffany Melius and Sidney Trinidad. For the men, Simon Parton qualified and finished in first. Jason Holowach qualified in third, but had a strong finals and finished in second followed by Jesse Warren.

Nearly 4,000 kilometres east, at Quebec’s Altitude, temperatures were a bone-chilling minus-20 degrees outside the gym doors. For the men, Sebastien Lazure finished first in qualifiers and overall. Whereas Samuel Tiukuvaara and Remi Chrusten moved up from fourth and fifth respectively to take second and third. For women, Kerry Briggs went into finals in first, but finished in third. Pia Graham bumped up from second to take the win. Ashley Veevers made the biggest improvement as she qualified in eighth, but finished in third place.

The Tour de Bloc’s eastern tour is wrapped-up until Jan. 10, 2015. Don’t miss the last stop on the western tour when the Tour de Bloc heads to The Rock Jungle in Edmonton on Dec. 13.
