Stefano Ghisolfi Sends Italy’s First 5.15b

Italian climber Stefano Ghisolfi, 22, has established a new 5.15b at Andonno, Italy.

Ghisolfi, a leading world cup competitor, linked Noia 5.14c and Anaconda 5.14b to establish Lapsus 5.15b. He had previously climbed three 5.15as.

“Finally after long time and a lot of tries, I sent the hardest project I have ever tried. I spent many days on it, falling at the last section,” wrote Ghisolfi on Instagram.

“I propose a new grade for me and for Italy, I think this is much harder than Biographie and Demencia. I’d like someone will come to try it soon to confirm the grade, maybe Italian history has been made!”

If the route is 5.15b, Ghisolfi is the eighth climber to send the grade.
